How this website collects, uses and protects personal information.
Who we are
This website is the professional website of CA Prahlad Kumar. In this policy, "we" and "the office" refer to CA Prahlad Kumar and the team that operates this website. You can reach us through the Contact page.
Information we collect
We collect only what is needed for the purpose you choose:
- Request a Service form: selected service, name, mobile number, email, city, a brief description of your requirement, preferred contact method and the time you gave consent.
- Contact form: name, email, optional phone, subject, optional service and your message.
- Newsletter: email address, optional name and interests, and the times you gave and confirmed consent.
- Client portal: account details (name, email, mobile; passwords are stored only in hashed form), engagement status records, update requests, messages, invoice records entered by the office and documents you upload.
- Website usage: anonymous, aggregate daily counts of events such as page or button use. These counts do not include IP addresses, cookies or any personal identifiers. Search terms are stored only as anonymous counts.
Cookies and similar technologies
- If you sign in to the client portal, WordPress sets essential login cookies so that you stay signed in.
- If you dismiss the important update bar, your browser remembers this for the current session only (session storage).
- No advertising or third-party analytics cookies are used.
How we use information
- To respond to your enquiry or request.
- To provide professional services after an engagement is agreed, and to operate the client portal.
- To send the newsletter, only after you confirm your subscription.
- To keep the website secure and prevent misuse.
- To meet legal, regulatory and professional record-keeping obligations.
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising.
Sharing
Information is accessible only to authorised persons in the office. It may be processed by service providers who help us run the website, such as web hosting and email delivery, under appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information where required by law or by a competent authority.
Client documents
Documents uploaded through the client portal are stored in a protected private folder on the web server. They are not publicly accessible and can be downloaded only by the client who owns them and by authorised administrators, after signing in.
Please upload only documents that the office has requested. Do not upload Aadhaar or similar identifiers unless the office specifically asks for them; where possible, mask the first eight digits of Aadhaar numbers.
Retention
Enquiries are kept as long as needed to respond and for reasonable follow-up. Unconfirmed newsletter sign-ups are deleted automatically after 30 days. After you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address and status so that we do not email you again. Client records and documents are retained for as long as required by professional standards and applicable law.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by contacting us through the Contact page. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email. Some client records may need to be retained to meet legal or professional obligations; we will explain this if it applies.
We aim to handle personal information in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and rules made under it, as applicable.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including access controls, protected storage for documents and secure forms. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
